A little about me

Hello, friend. I'm so glad you're here.

I'm a maker with a soft spot for squishy quilts, scrumptious textiles, and clothes that feel as though they've wandered out of a storybook and into everyday life.

My work is inspired by the natural world, as well as handmade objects that earn their keep in beauty and usefulness. I love natural fabrics with beautiful textures, interesting weaves, and rich colors. I love the intelligence of wool, the tactile pleasure of linen, and the fact that these materials begin as flax growing in the earth and sheep grazing in green pastures.

I often find myself dreaming of storybook villages and lives shaped by the seasons and the people around us. It's not that I wish to live in another time, but that I long for a world where people feel connected to the land and to one another where there is time to pursue a craft, tend a garden, share a meal, and gather with the people you love. I suppose I like the idea of bringing some of that idyllic world into this one.

And so you'll find sturdy boiled wool trousers and cozy vests, along with linen clothing adorned with patchwork motifs, in my work. Garments that are practical and comfortable, with a bit of whimsy tucked in. Familiar, but not quite ordinary. Clothing for real life, with room for a little magic.

I think, too, about the women who came before me and all the wisdom that passes quietly from one generation to the next. My grandmother sewed throughout her life, and now I sew every day on her 1950s Singer machine. Working with my hands brings a quiet to my inner world. When I sew, I feel connected to my grandmother and the women who came before us, to the care they gave the people they loved, and to the ways that love continues through us.

And yet, I'm still figuring things out as I go, trying to make a living from the work I love while building a life that feels true to me. One with room for creativity, connection to the natural world, and time for the people and things that matter.

I hope these clothes help you feel a little more bolstered for whatever the day brings you, and offer a reminder that you can carry your own particular mix of strength, kindness, and wonder out into the world.

Maybe that's what I'm really striving to offer: clothing as a love letter to ourselves. Permission to feel a little more at ease in our bodies. A little more joyful, a little more curious, and a little more open to love.
