Woodland Jacket

$229.00

Please choose the size that corresponds closest to your bust measurement AND also include your bust, waist, and hip measurements in the notes option to insure the best fit.

I handcraft each of these boiled wool jackets in my western North Carolina studio, bringing together time-honored materials with clean, unfussy design. The magic is in the details - real cherry wood buttons, a roomy hood that actually keeps you cozy, and pockets exactly where you need them. The jacket hits at your hip with a relaxed, boxy fit that works on pretty much everybody.

What makes boiled wool special? It's naturally resistant to both rain and wind, while keeping you perfectly insulated. One of its most remarkable qualities is that it's self-cleaning - the wool fibers actually release dirt and odors when aired out. That means you rarely need to wash it (and when you do, just a gentle hand wash will do). The less you wash it, the better it performs.

I chose these materials deliberately: OEKO-TEX certified boiled wool outside and a substantial 7-ounce linen lining inside (also OEKO-TEX certified) because they both work with your body, not against it. The lining isn't just beautiful - it's one of the most sustainable fabrics available. Linen requires minimal water and almost no pesticides to grow, and farmers use every part of the plant, creating virtually zero waste. It's actually stronger than cotton while being incredibly versatile - it'll keep you cool in summer and add an extra layer of warmth in winter.

The colors come straight from the landscape around me - warm copper reminiscent of autumn sunlight, deep olive that echoes forest depths, and rich mocha that grounds any wardrobe.

This is the kind of jacket that becomes an old friend - simple enough to throw on every day, but with a quiet quality that comes from making things by hand, one at a time. It's comfortable, unfussy, and built to last.
